Privacy

Short version: we keep your email so we can send you news about the game, and nothing else. You can have it deleted by asking.

What we collect

If you register for the beta: your email address, the date you gave consent, and a count of how many times you used the download link.

If you apply as a contributor: the name or handle you gave, your email, the area you picked, what you wrote about your experience, and the link if you provided one.

If you write through the contact form or subscribe to the newsletter: what you typed in it.

We do not use advertising trackers, and we do not sell or share any of this with third parties.

How it is stored

Email addresses are encrypted before being written to the database (AES-256-GCM), and the index used to find a record is a one-way hash rather than the address itself. A copy of the database, on its own, does not reveal who is in it. Traffic between your browser and the site is served over HTTPS.

Why we keep it

To send you news about Celeste VD if you registered, and to answer you if you applied or wrote to us. That is the whole purpose — consent is asked separately, with an unticked box, and the date and version of the text you accepted are recorded (currently version 2026-07-27).

How long

Until you ask us to remove it, or until the project stops — whichever comes first. Contributor applications that lead nowhere are deleted once the exchange is over.

Your rights

You can ask to see what we hold about you, correct it, have it deleted, or get a copy of it. Write to johnseraiocco@gmail.com and it will be handled — no form to fill, no justification needed.

Who is responsible

Celeste VD is run from Québec, Canada by John Seraiocco, who is the person responsible for the protection of personal information here. Any question about this page goes to johnseraiocco@gmail.com.

Where the data lives

The site and its database are hosted by a service provider whose servers may be located outside Québec. The download itself is served by GitHub.
