Xalthar is an ancient entity of pure shadow, and the campaign's prime mover: he corrupted the Faceless One, he holds King Torgun through a shard of mirror, he owns the Five Rings. The Maelstrom gnawing at the southern borders is tied to his influence. He has no bloodline, no level, no statistics in the archive — only the domain, and the reach.

Prince Altof Doombringer
Master of the Black Sun
He holds the Plate of Skelos, the artifact of the builder demigod, and it keeps his castle outside of time — the gears in his hall have not turned in an age. He is the drow who raised the Temporal Horn and broke magic across the world, the first time traveller Tyria ever produced. He knows exactly what he is: a seed of Kronos. And he is not one man. There are several of him — not copies, there is no lesser version to hunt down; the original is Kronos and every one of them is Altof. They share a single purpose and pool their power, and when one of them falls the others grow stronger. That is the curse. He cannot be reduced, only concentrated. When the faithful of the Lumen Vet went down to cage the thing under the ocean, it was Altof who gave them what they could not build alone.

The Corrupted King of Tel Vyl
He was wise once. Then his counsellor Maelith Shadowweaver brought a shard of mirror into his hall, and through it Xalthar took hold. His Wisdom has fallen from 18 to 12, his blade now deals radiant and necrotic damage in turns it cannot control, and radiance itself wounds him. His army marches on Pipon and he wants Celeste taken alive. Destroy the shard and the King comes back Neutral Good — that is the wager the campaign is built on.

A god of black magic and forgotten secrets, seated on fused bone inside a doorless pyramid. His bloodline is Black Blood at score 20 — pure corruption, flagged in the archive as NPC-only, outside any player catalogue. He is at war with the Awakened for control of the North Dead Land. It was his hand that destroyed the multiverse the Faceless One came from.

She keeps the Oath of Devotion: an aura of protection ten feet wide, seventy points of healing laid on by hand each day, and the Dawn Blade. Her bloodline opens eight powers of the Lord of Light. Torgun's army is at her walls.

An orc barbarian who became a priest of the Dawnlord — living proof that his people can carry the light. When he rages his eyes burn gold, not red, and orcish allies who can see him fight with steadier hearts. He was blamed for the murder of King Ulric on the strength of a banner that was never his. He is innocent, and the whole war rests on that lie.

He ordered the assassination of King Ulric under a false Vosgarian banner, and he is the hand on Yone the Kid. His corruption stands at 4, the highest of any regent.
